Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
Hi, I’m Katherine,
In a world overwhelmed with the pressures of diet culture and photoshopped images, I invite you to embark on a journey towards embracing food freedom and body acceptance.
As a child, watching my Nonna prepare Italian dishes sparked my passion for food and the culinary arts. However, as a dietitian, witnessing firsthand the harmful effects of diet culture fueled my commitment to advocating for a weight-inclusive and non-dieting approach. Through my training, I've learned the significant impact of mental health on our relationship with food, motivating me to create a supportive environment for exploring food and body image without judgment.
I am particularly also drawn to working with individuals from minority groups, and I make a dedicated effort to understand and honor your cultural background, recognizing that culture greatly influences one's relationship with food and body image.
If you're ready to embark on a journey towards reclaiming your relationship with food and your body, I invite you to reach out. You can email me to schedule a consultation, where we can discuss your goals and what to expect from our sessions. I look forward to being your partner in rediscovering joy and balance in eating!
“And I said to my body, softly, “I want to be your friend.”
It took a long breath and replied, “I’ve been waiting my whole life for this.” ”
weight Inclusive & Non-dieting Approach
As a registered dietitian committed to a weight-inclusive and non-dieting approach, my primary focus is on fostering a holistic and sustainable relationship between my clients and their bodies. Rather than perpetuating societal norms that prioritize weight as a measure of health, I strive to create an environment that values overall well-being, mindful eating, body positivity, and body neutrality. My approach recognizes that health is multifaceted and encompasses various factors beyond weight alone. I work collaboratively with my clients to shift the emphasis from restrictive dieting to cultivating a balanced and individualized approach to nutrition. This involves promoting intuitive eating, honoring hunger and fullness cues, and embracing the principles of self-compassion. By emphasizing Health At Every Size© and dismantling weight stigma, I aim to empower my clients to make choices that align with their unique needs and goals, fostering a positive and sustainable journey towards improved well-being.

Areas of Specialty
In Ontario, registered dietitians are licensed by the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO). Our dietitian services are not covered by provincial health plans like OHIP, but you may have coverage through your extended health insurance.
Insurance coverage varies, so check your plan to see what's covered (like per session or per year). While we don't do direct billing, we'll give you a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance provider.
If your insurance doesn't cover dietitian services, keep your receipt. In Ontario, dietitian services count as a medical expense for tax purposes, and you might qualify for a tax credit depending on your income when you file your taxes.
